An Unexpected Office Chair Repair Adventure 

A broken office chair, a toolbox, an unfamiliar road—and an adventure nobody expected. 

The Story Begins 

The call sounded simple:

“Can you come and repair an office chair?” 

Of course!

We packed our tools, a few useful chair parts and headed towards the location.

At first, everything looked normal. Roads, buildings and traffic—nothing unusual.

Then the road became quieter.

The buildings disappeared.

And suddenly, there were trees everywhere.

We checked the location again.

Yes… apparently, we were going the right way!

The Unexpected Journey

A little further ahead, we reached a small clearing surrounded by greenery.

And there it was.

An office chair.

Sitting there as if it had been waiting for us.

For a moment, we wondered whether we had come to repair a chair or start an adventure.

One thing was certain:

We had never seen a chair repair location quite like this.

The Chair Problem

Once the surprise was over, we got to work.

The chair looked fine from the outside, but the height adjustment wasn't working properly. It would slowly sink instead of staying at the selected height.

After checking the base, mechanism and other components, the problem pointed towards the hydraulic/gas lift.

This is a common issue with frequently used office chairs.

How the Chair Was Repaired

We carefully inspected the chair and removed the worn component.

The required replacement part was fitted, the connections were checked and the chair was tested several times.

Up.

Down.

Up again.

This time, the chair stayed exactly where it should.

Repair complete! 🪑🔧

The chair had survived the jungle—and so had our toolbox.

What We Learned

A chair repair job can look completely ordinary when you receive the call.

But you never know what you'll find when you reach the location.

More importantly, not every damaged office chair needs to be replaced. Sometimes a suitable chair part, hydraulic lift, wheel or mechanism can bring a chair back into useful service.

And sometimes, fixing a chair gives you a story you'll remember for a long time.

Because every chair has a story.
